DESCRIPTION:Mosaic Mandalas \nSaturday and Sunday March 23\, 24  2024 \nJoin me for my next mosaic mandala class at the Center for Creative Renewal in Cardiff\, CA. This project is my all time favorite and Ellen’s incredibly beautiful garden at the Center is one of my favorite places to teach this class. Ellen will provide a lovely breakfast for us upon arrival at 9:00 which always includes her wonderful fresh baked pound cake\, fruit from her garden and fresh hardboiled eggs from her chickens. \nYour project will be completed from design to grout over the two days and you’ll leave with a beautiful 16″ mandala\, complete with a hanger\, ready to brighten a garden wall or an interior space. You may choose from several different mandala patterns and there will be an abundance of glass gems\, stained glass\, and mirror glass to complete the project. \n*Registration is through the Center’s website http://www.artretreats.com/events/mosaic-mandalas. The cost of the class is $350.00 which includes a $100 materials fee. \n*I always have a selection of my handmade ceramic tile pieces available for you to choose from to add to your mandala. These are individually priced based on their size\, design and complexity. DESCRIPTION:In this class you will be guided to complete an 8-10” heart from design to grout in one day and go home with a beautiful finished piece. Materials available to you will include glass gems\, stained glass\, mirrored glass\, and ceramic tiles in a rainbow of colors. Using weatherproof materials will allow you to hang your piece outside on a garden or patio wall or mount it on a stake for display in the garden. \nMaterials Fee Includes: Weatherproof substrate\, all glass and glass gems\, ceramic tiles\, adhesive\, grout\, and a hanger. Bring your own tools if you have them – including nippers\, glass cutter\, tweezers\, and running pliers. If you do not have them\, they will be provided for you. \nNo experience is necessary and beginners are welcome. \nFee: $200.00\nIncludes $50.00 Materials Fee \nCancellation Policy:\nCancellations are accepted up to 1 week prior to event. SUMMARY:Mosaic Mandalas at the Center for Creative Renewal
DESCRIPTION:On March 9 and 10\, 2019\, I will be teaching a mosaic mandala class at the Center for Creative Renewal in Encinitas\, CA. The garden at the center is spectacular and is an amazing opportunity for creating in an outdoor setting. There is a labyrinth on the grounds that will be available for meditative walks and breaks during the class. You can see lots of photos of the garden and read about the Center on their website. \nI will have ceramic tiles to offer for use in your creations as well as stained glass\, glass gems of all shapes and sizes\, and mirror in a variety of colors. Skills learned will include glass cutting\, working with sticky mesh\, working with wedi board\, mixing thinset mortar for use as an adhesive\, mixing and coloring grout\, and the proper way to hang your piece using special wedi washers.
