DESCRIPTION:In this class you will be guided to complete an 8-10” heart from design to grout in one day and go home with a beautiful finished piece. Materials available to you will include glass gems\, stained glass\, mirrored glass\, and ceramic tiles in a rainbow of colors. Using weatherproof materials will allow you to hang your piece outside on a garden or patio wall or mount it on a stake for display in the garden. \nMaterials Fee Includes: Weatherproof substrate\, all glass and glass gems\, ceramic tiles\, adhesive\, grout\, and a hanger. Bring your own tools if you have them – including nippers\, glass cutter\, tweezers\, and running pliers. You can see lots of photos of the garden and read about the Center on their website. \nI will have ceramic tiles to offer for use in your creations as well as stained glass\, glass gems of all shapes and sizes\, and mirror in a variety of colors. Skills learned will include glass cutting\, working with sticky mesh\, working with wedi board\, mixing thinset mortar for use as an adhesive\, mixing and coloring grout\, and the proper way to hang your piece using special wedi washers. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday June 24th from 9:00-5:00\, I will be teaching a mosaic mandala class at the Center for Creative Renewal in Cardiff\, CA. The project will be completed from design to grout in one day. You’ll leave with a beautiful 10″ mandala\, complete with a hanger\, ready to brighten a garden wall or an interior space. You’ll be able to choose from three different mandala patterns and an abundance of glass gems\, stained glass\, and mirror glass to complete the project.
